Seems I missed all kinds of comings and goings. rasta, Fair Winds, you will be missed. Normal ebb and flow of life in a tidal blog I suppose.......

Anyways, my little girl got married this weekend. It was a beautiful, wonderful and glorious event shared with family and friends.

congrats Mando!! and congrats Mando's daughter. You must be a proud Papa my friend - your girl looks beautiful on her wedding day. (although if she is the one kicking my butt in fantasy baseball, i retract the aforementioned compliment - lol.)

glad to see some good news on this fair forum :)

No, that would be me who did the stomping...although 9-8 in our first HTH was a pretty pitched battle.

She gave up her spot in the league so Andrew could play.

Congrats, Mando! She looks beautiful and you look proud and happy. Did she pick any GD tune or bluegrass to dance to with papa?

Thanks AR -

Father-Daughter dance was "Advice For the Young at Heart" by Tears For Fears. "Love is a promise, love is a souvenir once given, never forgotten, never let it disappear."

I did get some GD and bluegrass worked in....The groomsmen danced to "Wagon Wheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show - not quite bluegrass, but it was in G and they went to the Em often enough that it sonically and harmonically qualified.

Sugar Magnolia is my ring tone for when Kristina calls me - the DJ played Sug Mag, Eyes of the World, Touch of Grey and Casey Jones. Mrs. Mando put the kabosh on Dark Star though....

If it was up to me, I'd be okay if they started now. Mrs. Mando says I need someone my own age to play with so the grandkids can't get here soon enough.

I look forward to grandkids too ( as long as I don't have to support them haha )even though my wife and I just started again when I'm almost old enough to be one. My stragegy will be simple - do all of the things you can't do to your own kids ( if you are a responsible parent )- spoil them rotten. I will be 100% the good guy/yes man without ANY responsibilities to teach them responsibility. Want some candy before dinner? Of course!

Oh shit. I'm not supposed to let 'em eat candy before dinner?? That wasn't in the manual. No wonder the wife is always giving me the hairy eyeball whenever the kids aren't hungry for dinner.....

It's allowable if you let them wash it down with Mountain Dew Code Red.

That's in the paragraph right after the section on "Uncles never have to apologize for making their nieces or nephews cry"

Is everyone else having as slow a day as I am?

HA! I did laugh out loud at that. And I'm doing my best to not so anything about mando's daughter's hotness quotient.

Congrats Dad - you should be very proud. Although that son-in-law may have a few fearful moments in his life.

Jots (and all) - thanks for the compliments, well most of them anyway.

I suppose I should put up a pic of the couple, so here are a few more.

First one is our side of the family.

Second and third are some of my favorites - I love the way they are looking at each other.

Congrats, MJ.

I like number 5 but I would love number 5 if you could photoshop a sub in the background, perhaps you could be on the conning tower with some of them ginormous binos that the Navy seems to like.

Good job,

Alas no. In that regard I failed as a parent. He likes country and some rap. She likes rap and some country.

It's a match made in musical hell.....Boney thug bullet catcher, ya'll?

But to their credit, they dutifully go to shows with me - we have seen Yonder Mountain, String Cheese Incident, Widespread Panic, OAR, Dark Star Orchestra, New Monsoon, Railroad Earth, Keller, Pimps of Joytime, Tony Furtado, Sons of Bill, Hackensaw Boys, Jackass Flats, JJ Grey and MOFRO, Bobby Lee Rodgers, but I doubt they'd go see them on their own.

At least they are good sports about it and hit up shows with you! I hope as my little ones get older they will go with me even though they may not be head over heels with the music! That may be a long way away though as my 9yr old is obsessed with one direction and my 5yr old says "dad she is listening to those dumb British guys again" I still have him for a few more years! Hahahaha
